Here I'll offer a little bit of insight about myself and my art. With a small forewarning, I'm a little quirky when it comes to writing free form. I'm a bit of an artist, always creating and observing things, little things like fall mushrooms surrounded in moss. I also enjoy the natural history of our planet, as well as the progression of human history. Then my interests spread to the skies, the planets and into the stars, then a little further still. I enjoy the awareness of patterns of energy, and they are always in my thoughts, in my eyes, pulsing through my fingertips, and just generally circulating about everything.
Along with being a painter, a musician and a performance artist, I am a self taught jeweller experimenting with sculptural body art and unique ornamental wear. Working with crystals since a young age, I still recall trying to wrap my first rocks. Slippery little guys, they were densely encased in copper wire. I recall the color of the deep green of bloodstone, and the rich red of jasper surrounded in that copper color. I never forgot that, and as I grew older and kept adding minerals to my personal collection, the art of working with metals seemed to naturally appear again. It gives me great satisfaction to work with rocks and crystals on a very intimate level. Being a multidisciplinary artist, I've occasionally pondered upon the route that carried me to making jewellery. Something about the language of body art and the history of it has struck a genuine passion in me, riding on waves of obscure communication within the self in relation to the world and universe that enfolds around us, as well as the universe in which we embody microcosmically.
My jewellery represents a contemporary reinterpretation of global indigenous cultural art. The conceptual foundations of ancient designs are incorporated into my work as inspirations which reflect the intimate relationship between the modern world and how it has evolved from the primal expressions of antiquity. Each design is intricately woven by hand, and completely one of a kind, using the purest of metals combined with semiprecious gemstones and raw and exotic gemstones.
